K-pop sensation ENHYPEN has returned with a captivating new chapter in their musical journey with the release of their second studio album, “ROMANCE : UNTOLD.” Marking the beginning of their new ‘ROMANCE’ series, the album showcases the seven-member group’s evolved musical prowess and commitment to artistic innovation.
Boasting over 2.2 million pre-orders, “ROMANCE : UNTOLD” has shattered ENHYPEN’s previous records, underscoring their global popularity and immense anticipation for new music. The album’s lead single, “XO (Only If You Say Yes),” produced by Billboard Hot 100 hitmaker JVKE, is a testament to their romantic narrative, blending Pop melodies with heartfelt lyrics about devotion and dreams.
In a departure from their previous dark and powerful concepts, “ROMANCE : UNTOLD” embraces themes of love, boldness, and mature charm. The 9-track album features a genre-spanning tracklist, from Alternative R&B to Rock Drum&Bass and Soft Synth-Pop, reflecting ENHYPEN’s versatility and artistic growth.
“We wanted to explore the concept of romance in its various forms, from sweet fantasies to deep, heartfelt expressions,” says ENHYPEN member HEESEUNG, who produced their first fan song “Highway 1009” for the album. Each member contributed to the album’s creative direction, with JUNGWON crafting the topline for “Hundred Broken Hearts,” infusing old-school R&B influences with youthful energy.
Grammy-winning producer Cirkut, known for his work with global hits, contributed to the Funk/Dance Pop track “Brought The Heat Back,” adding to the album’s dynamic sound palette. Creative director Nicola Formichetti, celebrated for his collaborations with icons like Lady Gaga, brought his visionary touch to the album’s concept photos and music video, enhancing ENHYPEN’s romantic allure.
